Course
Content
Participants are taught the scope of OSHA’s excavation standards
(29 CFR 1926-Subpart P) and its application; soil mechanics and
classification; how to use soil information to determine the correct
protective system needed; and how to identify the hazards associated
with trenching. Each participant will receive a manual and a pocket
penetrometer.
Prerequisites/Participant
Tools
Students are asked to bring a soil sample for class exercise. All
other required tools will be provided. The course manual will be provided. The course manual on CD
and the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) may be purchased for
an additional fee.
