Course Content
This course, for private-sector personnel from all types of industries,
is designed to present detailed information on how the provisions
of the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act may be implemented
in the workplace. Rights and responsibilities under the OSH Act,
the appeals process, record keeping and voluntary protection programs
are covered. The course also includes an introduction to OSHA’s
general industry standards and an overview of the requirements of
the more frequently referenced standards. This course allows the
student to conduct both a 10- and a 30-hour general industry course
and issue cards to participants certifying course completion.
Students who wish to participate as authorized trainers in the outreach
program must successfully pass a written exam at the end of the
course.
Prerequisites/Participant
Tools
Participants must have completed course 511 or equivalent training
and have five years of industrial safety experience. Participant
must forward a copy of résumé and certificates for
511 or equivalent training for confirmation of prerequisites. You'll
need a basic computer with a Netscape or Internet Explorer web browser
and local Internet access. For more specific information on computer
