This program is designed to help both organizations and individuals to prepare for a pandemic flu outbreak. Participants will learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of seasonal and pandemic flu, the importance of flu prevention, and the practical aspects of planning for pandemic flu in their workplace utilizing Federal and State resources as well as OSHA Guidelines.
The class will be divided into two sessions and students may register for one or both. Register for both sessions and receive a discounted rate of $89.
Morning Session: Part I $49
Participants in the morning session will review basic influenza awareness and prevention techniques.

Understand the impact the 1918 Pandemic Flu had globally and in the United States
2) How the Pandemic Flu Affects Today’s World
Describe flu terms and the differences between seasonal flu and pandemic flu
Explain pandemic phases and their meanings
Learn how to locate the most recent information on confirmed flu outbreaks
Get current information on vaccine distributions
3) H1N1 - The Virus
Understand the virus and its signs and symptoms
Afternoon Session: Part II $49
Participants in the afternoon session will learn to develop and implement a Pandemic Action Plan and have the opportunity to review their own pandemic plans in order to identify areas that may need improvement.
Planning for a Pandemic in the Workplace and at Home
Learn basic strategies for pandemic planning in the workplace
Understand when it is necessary to revise Emergency Response Plans
Select an Influenza Planning Checklist for their specific work sites
Discuss the elements of a home influenza action plan, including caring and cleaning techniques for any ill family members
