Course
Content
This course is intended for scaffold users and tradespeople working
from scaffolds. Topics include fall hazard recognition, struck-by
hazards, electrical hazards and electrocution, scaffold collapse
and platform failure, and scaffold access. The role and importance
of the “competent person” will be explained and emphasized.

Prerequisites/Participant
Tools
All required tools and materials will be provided. The course manual
on CD will be provided to each participant. Hard copies available
for an additional fee.

• Nature of electrical,
falling and falling-object hazards
• Correct procedures for dealing with electrical hazards
• Correct procedures for erecting, maintaining and disassembling
fall protection systems
• Correct procedures for erecting, maintaining and disassembling
falling-object protection systems
• Proper use of the scaffold
• Proper handling of material on the scaffold
• Maximum intended load and the load-carrying capabilities
of the scaffold used
• Other pertinent requirements
