Course Content
This course is intended for scaffold users and tradespeople working from scaffolds. Topics include fall hazard recognition, struck-by hazards, electrical hazards and electrocution, scaffold collapse and platform failure, and scaffold access. The role and importance of the “competent person” will be explained and emphasized.

Scaffold users and tradespeople working from scaffolds.

Prerequisites/Participant Tools
All required tools and materials will be provided. The course manual on CD will be provided to each participant. Hard copies available for an additional fee.

Course Topics

• Nature of electrical, falling and falling-object hazards
• Correct procedures for dealing with electrical hazards
• Correct procedures for erecting, maintaining and disassembling fall protection systems
• Correct procedures for erecting, maintaining and disassembling falling-object protection systems
• Proper use of the scaffold
• Proper handling of material on the scaffold
• Maximum intended load and the load-carrying capabilities of the scaffold used
• Other pertinent requirements
